Saturday 26th of June European long distance championship was celebrated in Vitoria. Mikel Calahorra achived the victory in a tough race.

Swimming course was at Ullibarri-Gamboa lake. After setting the pace all 4km, Mikel Calahorra got out of water leading the age group race.

Bike course has flat but with a lot of rolling hills that put a pain point on your legs for the run. Knowing that Mikel was in a conservative actitude, letting other do. From the very first part, Xabier Boneta took a gap that at T2 was 5min and around 100k mark, Iñaki Gabarain caught Mikel. At T2 Mikel was 3rd at 5min of the lead and at 30'' from second.

For the 2k mark reached the 2nd place and just after completing the fist loop of three, took the lead. Conditions were tough and since 17k mark Mikel suffered because off a nutrition mistake but managed the gap to cross the line in first place.
