Today is one month that the race was finished and I didn’t write anything jet. I needed time to assume what happened the 28th of may in Bilbao. Emotions, friends, family, all the city… What a race!

Due to my situation moving to Bahrain, I was not able to train properly so I knew that I was in a bad shape but I had to try it. I feel like if I have create this event, I remember almost two years ago with some futuristic chats with Andres Novo talking about the possibility of doing a triathlon in Bilbao and then a dinner with his boss convincing him that it was possible. Then everything started, the first meetings, the first swim in the river for promotional video and photos… And finally a great event was created.

I had to be there and destiny helped me… fortunately my visa expired the weekend of the race so I had to come back home. I arrived the day before the race, after more than 15h travel and sleeping in the plane. Too much things to do ahead so it was not the best way to rest. Building the bike, fixing it for the race, race number pick up… and race day arrived so quick.

I got into box area, crowded, lot of people, friends, family… everything ready on box area and jump on the water for a warm up. Once on water I realize that all the swimming course was crowded, bridged full of people cheering… Amazing, that’s Bilbao! Since then an amaizing day was going on… Pictures talk by them selfs…

My performance was not as I would like. Fist part until the second climb to the Vivero everything was going fine, I was located in around 10th position with a really hi level field. But my heart rate stays high, more than usual, but my rhythm was getting down. Slowly other competitor where overtaking me and I was getting down in the classification. Since then, my goal was to finish and enjoy the party. Even if my race number with my name was not visible, I could ear my name everywhere, that was amazing the support and I really enjoy it.
